Feel free to share your feedback here regarding swim times, or let the Y know directly. Mary has shared the blog address with Kyle, so he can check here for feedback if that is the easiest.
This is a GREAT opportunity to access some real coaching talent and for all the fledgling, improving, and even experienced triathletes, an opportunity not to be missed. I know most of us our "land dwellers", but please considering giving swimming a try. It will strengthen your upper body, legs, and most importantly core all without adding impact to your knees and back. It a great way to cross train, and essential for those hoping to improve on their triathlon times.
Don't be embarrassed to give it a try. Just two years ago at this time, many of you were deciding to train for a marathon. . . something that most of us had never done before.
I would definitely be interested in some a.m. swim times. Sarah will be there every M-W-F in the am for the gymnastics team, so morning times would be great!!!Looking forward to meeting the new "coach"

I would love to join the masters program as I need a ton of help on the swim. My problem is finding the time with work and family.
ReplyDeleteIf we could get a Master's swim that started at 5:30 AM say 2 days a week, I would be able to attend. I gather this can not happen due to life guard staffing constraints.
I can not go during the work day and I can only swim after 8 in the evenings. Are there others that could swim a couple nights a week from 8 to 9? The pool is open until 9:30 PM. Eric
Eric, your ideal schedule sounds very similar to mine.
ReplyDeletei can only swim during the lunch hour, anywhere between 1215-130pm, the mornings are restricted because of the pool hours-- it would be greast if the pool would open earlier-- 515 0r 530 am.....

I am a morning only swimmer as well during the week due to that darn work problem. The earlier the better since I start at 7:30. The 6:00 am time is as late as I can participate.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Jeff
It may not make any difference, but we could try to get a petition started to give to the Y to get the pool open earlier- say 5:30. If they felt they would have a full pool of 10 or so participants three days a week for a master's class, for which I believe you pay extra to join, they may be willing to make adjustments.
ReplyDeletehi to some old running buddies tracy & cliff! i'm considering getting back into the world of running and swimming. do you think i could swim with this group or would i need to start with something easier like general lap swim? i haven't been in the pool in over a year. ann
