Monday night riding

Anyone up for a ride tonight? I would like to ride the Elm City route if possible. If the weather is looking too sketchy, I may opt to ride the loop (corner of Old Mill & Beechwood to West Mount to Halifax to Old Mill to Beechwood) 6 or 7 times or some combination of routes to get the miles, but be closer to home if there is lightning.

Please let me know if anyone would like to join. - Eric Seale

Eric I should have had you join me. I road out to City Lake, and measured or 5k for tonight, and back home. 10 miles was probably not what you had in mind however. . .

    Eric,
I want to start training for a triatholon, but do not have a road bike. Do you or anyone you know have a used road bike for sale? I am not looking for anything fancy. I am 5'5" tall.
    Thank you

Jennifer, I support looking local for a bike when possible, but wanted to give you another option for a new bike.

Sprtymama on ebay sells road bikes that I feel are a great deal. You get a Kinesis built frame, and good components for a very reasonable price. My wife (about your size) and I both purchased our bikes through Courtney (sprtymama) and have been very pleased.

As stated on the Rocky Mount cycling site getting sized is key to getting the right bike. Steve's Bike Shop and Moore's in Rocky Mount are both great options to buy locally.

I am by far the least experienced cyclist in the group, so people like Eric, Kinnie, Tim, Cliff, and others can give better feedback.

    Good luck!
