07/17 Shoe Clinic Scheduled

Mark you calendars for next Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. We will have a shoe and clothing clinic at the Harrison Family YMCA. Raleigh Running Outfitters will be here to discuss proper foot ware, clothing, and hydration options. I realize for many of you, there may not be too much new for you to learn. That being said, Raleigh Running Outfitters has been very good to the RMEC.

• They offer us 15% discount on shoes and clothing.
• They have fitted 30+ runners from our group for new shoes.
• They came last year to do a clinic as well.
• And, they supplied all of the race materials for the Chase of Champions (at no cost).

Please, try to attend and show your support. A good running specialty store is very hard to find. We are lucky enough to have one of the best in the country just up the road in Raleigh. The customer service is top notch, and their knowledge of running gear is one of the best in the industry. You will not be disappointed after attending this clinic.

Jim Micheels will likely be the presenter. Jim is the Owner of Raleigh Running Outfitters. He has been an impassioned runner for the last 22 years. He has run nearly 20 marathons, his favorite distance, and clocked a personal best of 2:28. His experience in running retail includes stints at Downtown Athletic in Charlottesville, VA and Runner’s Edge of Farmingdale, NY. Prior to sporting goods, Jim was employed in the human resources field for 11 years. He opened Raleigh Running Outfitters in August of 2003 and is now co-race director for the City of Oaks Marathon in Raleigh.
