Monday night is the first of three 5ks we will run in Rocky Mount. We will run the Chase of Champions 5k course which is linked below. Please make yourself familiar with the course, because it will not be marked. There are still painted arrows on the road from the past Chase races, but they are faded. Remember, the course will not be closed to traffic. You must always yield to cars, and be aware of the traffic around you, even if it costs you time off your PR.
Race #1
Date: July 9th @ 7:00 p.m. - Start: Chase of Champions Start
- Route: http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-states/nc/rocky-mount/330519268
- Description: This is the Chase of Champions 5k course. It is an out-and-back that includes a loop around City Lake
Remember, the goal is to simulate a race for many of our new runners, and also to see how well you are doing. Please come out and join us. Use the comment feature to let me know if you are coming, so we can have enough post race drinks for everyone. See you Monday!
I plan on participating, see you at 7.

I will probably not be there tonight. Christine's mom had a stroke Friday night (part of the reason I missed Saturday's run). I may be going back to Greenville tonight for this reason. I do intend to make the other Monday 5K's as I badly need to work on my speed. See all soon !
ReplyDeleteI plan to run tonight also. See everyone there.
ReplyDeleteI'm planning to be there if I can get away...
ReplyDeleteI should be there, but am not sure if I will run. I may just help with timing.

ReplyDeleteThanks for setting up the "race" last night. It was enjoyable, despite the fact that the actual run was quite brutal (heat)!
Great job everyone! I will post the race results by Wednesday. Thanks to everyone for coming out!
