2010 RMEC Shirt Order

It it time for a new RMEC shirt order. In our last shirt order we tried to get some racing tank-tops. Some people loved them, and others did not. We have lots of new members, and some who are about to join. I would still like to get something for us so we all look like a "team" when we are at races, but realize that race day is when you need to feel most comfortable, so you should wear what feels good.

TECHNICAL RUNNING SHIRTS:

That being said, I plan to order Zorrel Wicking Tees for the club. may regret asking for opinions on shirt color. . . but I am a sucker for punishment! To keep it simple, I plan to order two different colors only. The shirt options below have lots of choices in colors. It is not possible for everyone to get their own personal favorite.

To keep the silk screening process simple, I would like for us to stay with a light color fabric. This is also good for running on hot days. I added a poll to the site for people to vote on their color preference. Please vote ASAP. For RMEC members, the cost is $5.00 per shirt. Women, can order a standard unisex shirt, or the women's cut if you prefer that style (pink is only available in the women's style).

There is a potential third option that we could order, but we all shirts would have to be in this style is a high visibility technical shirt. These would be good for keeping us safe, and helping us stand out at event. If everyone would like this style, I will order these instead.

FASHION TEES (NON TECHNICAL):
In addition to the technical shirts, we will order some "fashion tees" as well in grey. These are described as "softer than silk tees". These would not be used for exercise, but could be used as just a casual tee shirt.

Once we finalize the two color options, we will have an "order post" later this week.

  1. I like the orange and the yellow.

  2. One important note. . . we are kicking around an idea of a slightly updated logo. Depending on how this looks,it may impact our ability to do some colors.

NOT planning a major logo overhaul, but would like to see if we can refresh it a bit.

I honestly am a fan of the orange, becuase it stands out in races. I love my orange RMEC shirt, but know that orange is not a favorite color for everyone.

I would also be fine using the High-visibility options if everyone else is on board.

I like the teal... or "Irish" as it's called here.

  5. Also. . . you can vote for more than one option if there are multiple's you like.

  6. I like the orange or the irish (teal). The logo may show up better on the orange. My third choice would be team yellow.

  7. I voted my color preferences. But for the Rec shirt . . . how about cotton?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Frank the Rec shirt is essentially cotton. It is a blend of cotton and Modal. This is how Modal is described:

Modal is "very soft and popular for both clothing and household textiles . . . In many ways, modal acts like cotton, but it also has some significant advantages over cotton."

So this shirt will be a softer cotton feel.

Others feel free to weigh in too.

Definitely HIGH-VISIBILITY! Everyone runs faster with high visibility shirts and shoes.

  13. One word of caution about the Irish color. It is more green than it appears in the sample swatch. It looks teal in the swatch, but is closer to a kelley green.

    See example: http://www.zorrel.com/_img/products/primary/1268664128_Z100-irish.jpg

What exactly is "Agave" anyway ? Why not "Carolina" blue ?

  15. Amber4:32 PM

Oh.. eww! I do NOT like the Irish! Name makes more sense now.

That swatch is misleading! Thanks for clarifying. I'll change my vote.

Agave is what tequila is made from.

    I'll take three. XXL

No such thing as Carolina blue...just a made up color so they feel better about having to wear baby blue uniforms.

No one seems to be convinced of the increased speed factor of a High-Visibility shit so I'll vote for Royal Blue and Team Yellow.

I am so sorry Michael and everyone! I honestly meant to type "shirt". Although the other will increase speed also.
    Michael, can you edit that?
    Brian

I could edit it, but it is too funny to erase!

I buy the high visibility bit Brian, I vote for that. Other choice would be yellow or lime green.

Austin Orange, Team Yellow or Gold. Or any color majority chosen.

  23. Be sure to log your "vote" in the poll. It is on the top right of the blog.

  24. Well, I don't like the green now that it has been clarified. I am changing my vote to the tequila color and orange.

  25. I love this! It's like hurding chickens!!!!

Should we put the high visibility yellow in the choices since there seems to be interest yet there wasn't an option in the original poll...

  27. NEW POLL - PLEASE VOTE

    . . . bock. . . bock. . . bock!

GO HIGH VIS! GO HIGH VIS!

  29. I must admit. This is pretty funny. Keep voting, but it is pretty funny watching the results. It is like the thing is destined to be a tie! With the High Vis Green, the "Team Yellow" option seems to be falling out of contention right now.

With our topic of the day being safety, I say high vis should win by default!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Anonymous8:51 AM

Hi vis looks good. Anything but agave blue.

    ReplyDelete
  32. By the way, we will be ordering YOUTH shirts as well. These are not available in the Hi Vis however.

    ReplyDelete
  33. High Vis and Blue get my vote, but do I have a vote as a non-member??? Not sure how to become official. By invitation only? :-)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Michael11:41 PM

Jeannie, you are offically invite. You pass our qualification (you have feet). I will post something tomorrow about how to join. There are others joining too.

  35. Looks like we have two winners. I am waiting to get quotes back from some shirt printers. I will have an update soon. Once I know the cost, and can confirm the number of colors we can order, I will post an order form.

If you are not yet an "official" member, you can pay dues for half the year when you pay for the shirt order.

    Thanks!
