Turkey Trot Photos

Lots of fun today at the Turkey Trot. Counting kids, we probably had over 30 runners. It was great to see so many people from the RMEC out there. Hopefully we can pick up some new runners to join us. If you are new to this blog, keep coming back. We try to organize runs virtually every Saturday. Everyone is welcome!

Here is a direct link to the Turkey Trot pictures. If you want to view various running pictures, go to the main directory. Enjoy!

  2. One comment (suggestion) I'll make for the Turkey Trot, is that the small kids doing the 1- mile run need to either complete their run before the other races start, or they need to line up behind the adults. A lot of you know that Jon was injured yesterday and was unable to run after a kid zig-zagged in front of him, fell down, and in turn caused Jon to fall. He busted his knee on the pavement and bled for hours thereafter. He literally has a chunk knocked out of his knee. It's unfortunate, and I'm really sorry for him that it happened... the worst part is, that it could have been prevented, if the 1-miler's would have followed the instructions and lined up behind the orange cone (behind the other runners).

Joe Bunn and I want to thank all you old runners for either not showing up- if you are still breathing- or letting us get ahead. As LeRoy says, "Hardware is Hardware."
    Bright shirts aren't they?!?

  6. It was great to see so many people at the turkey trot. Sorry to hear about Jon's knee, hope he is mending well. Michael, I spoke to the Rocky Mount Telegram to see if they would be publishing any results. They said they had sent no reporter or photographer to the event and had received no info from the Parks and Rec. Dept. If they can get info they will publish it. I have not had any luck contacting Parks and Rec. Do you have anything you can give them? I hope the Telegram does a better job covering the 5k-half marathon event.
