I would highly recommend another big group trip, but at a smaller marathon. With a race the size of MCM and a city the size of DC, it was tough to all get together. For those of you who I did not see or speak to, congratulations!
Below are the results of every associated with the RMEC. The links take you to our individual results page complete with splits and photos. There is also a virtual race map where you can watch "dots" race. It appears to have a glitch at the time of this blog post (it pulls up the wrong runner when you put in their bib number):

For everyone who ran. . . this video is for you.
Congratulations to all of you!! Wow, so many PR's and a BQ! I thought this was a tough course? Looks like the RMEC did alot of good training :)
ReplyDeleteThat video sums up exactly how my legs feel right now...I don't think I've ever been this bad off. Hope it goes quickly.
ReplyDeleteGreat job everyone!
I also squeaked out a PR yesterday by 37 seconds.
I have lived vicariously through you guys!! Great job!! You really inspire me! I'm fairly new to running and hope to one day accomplish what all of you mastered!! Great Job!!---Angela
ReplyDeleteCongrats to everyone on all the PR's ! I know how you feel, Ron. Just walking is an adventure right now. I got hit by monster hamstring cramps just before mile 16 and speed-walked 75% of the last 10. Congrats again to all!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations MCM runners! That is very cool. Ashley
ReplyDeleteA BQ! That's so awesome Jeffrey! Congratulations to all. I know it was an amazing journey, not just the race itself, but the comraderie in training. I want in on the next group thing.

This was a GREAT marathon. I only wished I had been able to see everyone at the finish so I could give you a big hug! I sure was thinking about my "teammates" out there on the course. I was able to spot Michael and Russ at points where there was 2-way traffic. That gave me a boost each time. And Michael is right about running in each footsteps. I often during the race took a look ahead or behind to scan the hundreds of runners hoping to see one of you guys. I knew you were there somewhere. I'm still ecstatic with the results of this race. What a great feeling to cross that finish line! Everyone should be so proud to have earned their MCM medal (even if the race didn't go exactly as you planned). All you guys ROCK!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all! No matter how many you've run, be proud of yourself for each one is an amazing accomplishment!
ReplyDeleteI had a great time as well, It was nice to not be in pain the whole race(just the last 6 miles but hey whos counting right)cramping, that darn cramping how do you train for that one someone help me out!!!!I think passing the other runners near the end and trying to "scan" the crowds for people I knew was distracting in a "good" way!! Im thrilled with my finishing time, I dropped 20-25 or so odd minutes from my first marathon, but think...I might could do better.... who knows....I think I said no more marathons ...but I dont know!!!! Big CONGRATS to Jeff Miller for the BQ time!!! Way to go, I know you hung it all out there and it paid off!!! Cant wait to see what you do in Boston!!!
