Jason Irvin was first to finish with a time of 1:20:06 earning 20th overall. Despite being the fastest RMEC finisher, his competitive age group kept him off the podium by only 20 second! One place and seven seconds behind Jason came Cliff Amos finishing in 1:20:13. This was good enough for 1st in his age group. Cliff also posted the fastest run in the RMEC with a 7:48 pace on a hilly 5k course.

Colin Amos returned to defend his age group victory from last year, and did not disappoint. Finishing 30th overall with a 1:23:55 he once again took 1st by 13 seconds and was the youngest competitor too! He improved his time by 13 minutes over last year. 61-year old Ralph Willey finished in 1:27:48, and also took first in his age group. Complete results are available online.

Anyone who's been toying with the idea of doing a sprint triathlon, I highly recommend signing up for this one next year. It's done up right, with a lot of support and after race eats. And you'll never find an easier swim than the 300 yard pool swim.
ReplyDeleteI had a great time.
