The race will be precision timed by the watch you chose to wear that day. If you want a shirt or medal, you must bring your own. Awards ceremonies will be held back at your own house with a hot cup of coffee or a cold beer. . . your choice. More details will follow. If you are interested in joining Frank for all or part of the run post a comment.
Keep an eye out for this run. . . it just might turn in to a big event in a few years!
Not only did Frank win the race - he set a course record!
ReplyDeletei am thinking about it..is there a route map anywhere? anyone else up for a long training run for shamrock? cliff
ReplyDeleteI'm there....probably into the afternoon.
ReplyDeleteI think we "unofficially" talked about doing the 1/2 marathon course twice...would make dropping fluids easier.
ReplyDeleteIf you run the Half route twice, I may join for the Half distance.
ReplyDeleteDepends on if anyone else is running near my pace.
I may be able to hang with Arthur (and/or Russ).
Frankle,
ReplyDeleteI am good for most, if not all. Privilege to run with RMEC's ultra sensei.
Those not doing the full marathon will be taunted and ridiculed...just kidding...maybe...
ReplyDeleteThose of us that run the half will be home drinking beer before you.
ReplyDeleteWhat about 1/4 for those of us who are fatter after Christmas (somebody had to devise a way to get all of the chocolate out of the house)and only running 6 miles for their long runs?
ReplyDeleteKinnie
Not much of a plan right now. We talked about heading out at 8 am (rain / shine / sleet / snow) Meet at the Rocky Mount Half Marathon start / finish.
ReplyDeleteWe plan to have fluids there and at the dog pound (assuming I can get permission to leave my car there down near the greenway!). Probably have some pretzels, etc. too.
Any and all are welcome! Run as far or as short as you like!
Frank
Unofficially, I'll plan to be there for at least one trip around the 1/2 marathon course.
ReplyDeleteRuss
Officially, Elaine and I will be there unofficially for 13-14 miles.
ReplyDeleteMisty
Unofficially, is anyone (except Lavely) interested in a longer option? Officially, this is an unofficial marathon or less. Unofficially, there could possibly be a official longer option . . . unofficially . . . of course.
ReplyDeleteFrank
Unofficially, I'd like to do the marathon option - not a step further. If I can run that morning, I will have to start the unofficial marathon at the unofficial start time of 5:30am rather than at the offical 8:00am start.
ReplyDeletei am thinking seriously about it since i missed out on myrtle. it's closed. i had grand plans for myrtle, but i'll just be glad if i can stand up for the whole thing!
ReplyDeletebrent
Brent . . . is that officially or unofficially?
ReplyDeleteFrank
i officially want to be able to stand up!
ReplyDeletebrent
