There is talk building about a trip to do the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati. If you have ever thought: "I'll run a marathon when pigs fly!" than this is the perfect race for you! The race is not until May 3, 2009 so there is PLENTY of time to get ready.
Some perks about the race are:
- a really cool two sided medal
- a pretty flat course
- lots of fun "pig stuff"
- half marathon option too.
- in general. . . just a fun time!
Post a comment here if you think you might be interested. This is not a commitment. We are just trying to get some ideas on who may want to try it. We hope to see you all at the Finish Swine!
I could be persuaded!!! Tracy H
ReplyDeleteWe need to tell Jenni Batchelor, she loves pigs!!!
ReplyDeleteI would "love" to train for another marathon with the group and would love to go somewhere different. However, I have set my sights on the White Lake 1/2 Ironman this year - God willing. I believe they are the same weekend.

I might be interested. I've never been to Cincinnati and never run a marathon. I haven't even completed my first half yet, so I will need to see how that goes...
ReplyDeleteI may be interested as long as I can get my temperature checked the standard way
ReplyDelete^LOL...I heard you got quite cozy with one of the med tent workers.
ReplyDeleteI heard about that too,,,,LOL!!!! Hey they cant be to sure when you start talking about having chest pains...be thankful they were thorough!!!
ReplyDeleteThis race sounds like a lot of fun! I may consider it for my first marathon.
ReplyDeleteKeep me in mind, as a "maybe".

Since we're thinking ahead; how about Kiawah 2009? Would be a fun Mommy/Daddy weekend and winter marathon! Non-runners can either golf or hit the spa during the marathon and on Sunday when the marathoners are resting (or also hitting the spa). Kinnie
ReplyDeleteHmmm...the Kiawah idea sounds great
ReplyDeleteI would be interested in the Flying Pig Marathon

ReplyDeleteMaybe, maybe. I grew up in Cincinnati and have not been back in 35 years. Would love to have a reason to go. Any other really slow runners interested in this? If not the marathon, maybe the half.

This list is getting big! I realize not everyone is a firm commitment, but we could have a blast if we took all of you to do the Flying Pig! I will start to order hot pink RMEC race shirts for everyone now!
