This past weekend Russ Hinesley returned back to Indianapolis for his old standby. . . the Indianapolis Mini Marathon. This enormous race had over 30,000 finishers and Russ finished in the top 43% with a a time 2:13:46. Not too shabby for a grandfather of five to beat well more than half of the field! This was also an 11 minute improvement over last year. Great job Russ!
A surprise racer this weekend has Brent Brondyke. Unknown to the RMEC, Brent snuck up to Greensboro for the inaugural North Carolina Marathon. Like all of the other runners, Brent confirmed this was a hilly and challenging course, but a well run race. Despite only one 20 mile in 2008, Brent ran a respectable 4:13:39 on a race that he approached like a training run. Heck of a training run! Great job Brent.
Congrats, Russ and Brent !
ReplyDeleteWay to go Brent! that was a great time! imagine if you actually trained??? :-)
