It was great to see everyone out at Ford's Colony last weekend. I really hope we can see a BIG group tomorrow. First of all, I pushed the start time back to 6:30 am. This makes it so we are not starting in the dark, and everyone gets an extra 30 minutes of sleep! Second of all, it might be one of the nicest days to run we have had since the winter. The starting temperatures are supposed to be 59, and not get any higher than 64 by 10:00 am.If you are running the full OBX, you should be running about an 18 mile run this weekend (if you plan on two 20's). If you are training for the FCSB Half Marathon you should be at 6-7 miles this weekend. Chicago runners are doing you last 20+ mile run this weekend. Here is the Saturday running schedule if you need it. I have also added a shorter Candlewood route in case there is anyone reading the blog who wants to come out an join us!
Run Details:
- Where: Saturday, 6:30 am @ Harris Teeter
- Supported: Yes
- Weather: Forecast (59F at start)
- Routes: 4 miles; 7.25 miles; 18 miles
FLUIDS: I plan to run from my house to and meet you at the Harris Teeter. I need to run 22, and would prefer to add the extra miles on the front of my run if possible. This means we need help with fluids. I will have fluids at my house. Can someone put fluids at the tracks and also at Co-Ah-Bar. It can be two different people. The RMEC will pay you back for whatever you get (Steve, I still owe you). Please post a comment if you can do fluids, and say where you will put them.
As always. . . ANYONE is welcome to join us! Tell a friend. . . RSVP online with your pace and distance.

I will be there for 22 at a 8:30ish pace.
ReplyDeleteI can't run tomorrow, Daniel will be gone so I have the munchkins. A few of us are running sunday morning at 5:45 for 22 if anyone wants to join in for all or part of it.
ReplyDeleteI'll be there for 7 at 11 pace
ReplyDeleteI'll be there for the 7 mile loop. Probably around a 10 minute pace.
ReplyDeleteI'll be there for 11-12 miles....I guess I'll get creative with the 18-mile route. I will need to start early...probably 6:15.
ReplyDeleteArthur I need to run about 12 miles also. I can meet you at 6:15. I've only run with you guys once before and enjoyed it. It's always good to have people to run with.
ReplyDeleteWhat pace are you running?
Michael, I would love to run with you. It will be a beautiful morning for running. Look forward to it.
ReplyDeleteI will be there for 7 at 11:00 pace. Robin J.
ReplyDeletei plan to run the candlewood loop.
ReplyDeletematt
My pace will be 10:00-10:20.
ReplyDeleteI'll be running with the Sunday group.
ReplyDeleteI'll put fluids at the tracks. I plan on running 18 tomorrow at around a 9 minute pace.
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve
ReplyDeleteWe still need fluids at Co-Ah-Bar, if anyone can do it.
Also, for those going 12+ miles, you may consider brining gels.
Michael
I would like to run 10 in the morning. My pace can be anywhere from 9 to 10 min.
ReplyDeleteKinnie
I'll be ther for 22 at 8:30 pace. I'll put fluids at Co-Ah-Bar. Sorry I missed you guys last week
ReplyDeleteI should be there for 18 at around an 8:45 pace.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the cooler temps!!!!!
John, I am going to try to add my extra four miles, and leave from our street if you are interested. I will leave here about 5:55 am.
ReplyDeleteLooks like my training is right on schedule. Michael says if I'm planning the OBX marathon I need to do 18 tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteWell, my longest to date has been 4.6 and I'm shooting for 10 tomorrow. Maybe a little behind. But since I'm planning a 13-22 minite pace, I'll just run at the lake tomorrow!
You'all have fun!
Frank
That was a great run. What a difference cooler temps make.
ReplyDeleteI'm behind the OBX-Full schedule too, Frank. I'll have to go really long on the 27th.
ReplyDeleteKeep in mind, the 18 mile run was based on two 20's and a three week taper. If you do a two week taper, and one 20-miler you are not really behind.
ReplyDeleteSee below for an example:
09/27 -- 16-mile run
10/04 -- 12-mile run (recovery)
10/11 -- 18-mile run
10/18 -- 12-mile run (recovery)
10/25 -- 20-mile run
11/07 -- 10-mile run (taper)
11/15 -- OBX Marathon
YOU CAN DO IT!
Im behind a little too! Im still undecided but trying to make it to the OBX full. I plan to run 16 somewhere somehow on Monday even if I have to do some on the "mill and some outside. Tracy H
ReplyDeletemight do the obx half. will make a decision closer to race time if it's still open.
ReplyDeleteI'm still on the fence for OBX. I definitely want to do it but feel a little iffy because of sore shins. I'll make a decision by 9/30. May try to do a long workout on Saturday but combine cross-training and running (in typical "Ursula" training style).
