Many of you have started to receive your race packets for the Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon. When you get your information, - What corral you are in?
- Where are you staying?
- Are you going to the post race concert?
I think RMEC will have about 11 runners (Scott, Patti, Tracy, Mandy, Steve, Tampa, Misty, Elaine, Anne, Derrick, Michael). Am I missing anyone? Make sure to put on your RMEC shirts!
Corral 4 for me!
ReplyDeleteI plan on staying somewhere a little bit out of town and using the shuttle service from the Amphitheatre. I did this last year and it worked out pretty good.
I will not be going to the concert later that evening (I will be driving home after the race).
Corral - Don't know yet. Probably 3 or 4.
ReplyDeleteStaying - Founder's Inn
Party - Probably. Depends of kids.
Corral 9 for my sister and I. This is her first attempt at that distance and I plan to run with her the whole way to get her to the finish.
ReplyDeleteStaying at Days Inn at the Beach (1000 Atlantic Ave)
Concert-you bet, wouldnt miss it!!!
Corral 4 for me as well. I think I am staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in Greenbrier. That is about 20 miles from the convention center, I grew up in NE North Carolina so I know that area pretty well. I was waiting to see if we had another party joining us that weekend-ended up waiting so long that mostly everything is booked that is half-way descent in that area.
ReplyDeletePost Race Concert most definately!
I am in corral 6--pending injury status!!! :(
ReplyDeleteOh--staying with friends
ReplyDeleteConcert--probably not!! If somebody would like to use my number for free entry that night just let me know ahead of time so I can find you after the race.
They just added 200 more race spots. It is not too late to sign up!
ReplyDeleteWords of advise- Runners lie!!.
ReplyDeleteEspecially about Corrals. Last year I used the guideline RnR suggested, and started in Corral 17. Never in the race was I not closed in and passing people. Took me slightly over 2 hours, so I was on my and RnR pace, but was passing and finishing in the Corral 12 and 13 numbers. Give yourself the benefit of the doubt. And get in the front of your Corral for the start, as they stagger the starts and you will have some open ground at least at the start.
Enjoy the Expo the day before. It is a great race with a lot of enjoyable distractons!! Sorry I will not be there in person.
Andy
I AGREE WITH ANDY, START BEtter than you should and you will be with runners of your own ability. IT IS a fun, flat race with lots of scenery and spectators and fun times afterwards! WHERE ARE ALL THE rmt endurance club members meeting after the race??? WHICH letter???
