Wilson Whirlirun 5K

Wilson does not have a grand history of fantastic races, but they seem to have found a good one with the Whirlirun. This is a fun, family friendly 5k that benefits W.C.Y.A.A.’s Batter‐Up Buddy Ball program. The Batter‐up Buddy Ball is designed to give disabled children in the community the opportunity to enjoy the great game of baseball in a positive environment.

This year several RMEC members decided to race.  We were forunate to get a break in the heat, and had near perfect weather to race. . . well, as perfect as you can get in June.  The RMEC took half of the top three in the race.  Carolyn was the third female finihser with a time of 24:34.  John Batchelor took second overall with a 17:59, breaking 18:00 for the first time.  Ron Fleming hung with John the enitre race and finished in thrid place with an impressive 18:10.

Below are the results for the RMEC.
  • 17:59 John Batchelor
  • 18:10 Ron Fleming
  • 24:34 Carolyn Beam
  • 26:14 Ursula Forrester
  • 27:05 Jeanette Batchelor
