Tobacco Road Marathon and Half Marathon: 850 runners have registered for the marathon, and 2,370 have registered for the half. These are great numbers for an inaugural race. Tim, Michael, Gerry, Dave, Tracy, Frank, Brian, and Ashley are all registered for the full, and Laura is racing the half. The race is full, but I still wanted to let the club know about who was racing. The website says they will be posting results during the race on Sunday, so you may be able to follow us online.
Tar Heel 10 Miler and 4 Miler: This April 10, Chapel Hill race has a cap of 2,000 runners, and only has 80 spots remaining. All 10 M finishers get a medal which is a nice perk. Currently Kelly, Arthur, Michael D, Ron, Laura, Michael, Ursula, Leigh Ann, Scott, Jon, and Amber are racing the 10M. Robin and Charlotte will also be racing in the 4M. I still think this could be a great road trip for our club if anyone is interested. It can be a great training race for those building up miles, and just something fun and different to try. You actually finish by running around the football field. I expect the last 80 spots will be gone before Friday.
Jon and I are also registered for the Tarheel 10M. Looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteI'm shooting for a 3:55 . . .
ReplyDeleteHope you speed work pays off!
I'm registered for the TR marathon, I've got a room at the Embassy Suites. I just had my 7th alcohol injection to sclerose the neuroma in my foot. Haven't done marathon training for 7 weeks. What the heck, let's see if I can run 26.2 miles.

Perfect Brian! You're amazing!
ReplyDeleteGood luck everyone this weekend. I hope you have great runs.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to the Tarheel 4M. This will be my second event ever. I am not sure how ready I will be but I'll do my best. I would love for this to be a road trip with RMEC - I think that would be fun. Congrats to all who were at the Roanoke Canal race. Ted you would win the award for the biggest smile crossing the finish line.
ReplyDeleteHappy to report that the RMEC snuck in two more marathoners this weekend at the Tobacco Road race!
ReplyDeleteAkso, I forgot to mention that Jeff H is racing the Willmington Marathon this weekend too!
Who are the other two?
