Team 1: (S) Mary, (B) Kinnie, and (R) Patti
- Team 2: (S) Mike, (B) Jeff, and (R) Dave
- Team 3: (S) Doug, (B) Eric, and (R) Michael
- Team 4: (S) Elizabeth, (B) Ursula, and (R) Jenni
- Team 5: (S) Carol, (B) Tracy H, and (R) Andy
- Team 6: (S) George, (B) Tim, and (R) Ryan
Not all of these teams are confirmed, and I believe only Team #2 above has officially entered. If everyone does sign up, we will be sending 18 people to Raleigh to participate in the event. WOW! Thanks Kinnie and Patti for recommending this event. I never expected this much interest.
One major benefit of a relay team, is that you get to be a participant, and a fan all at the same event. This really could be a blast to have so many people and family members in Raleigh all cheering each other on. Here is a map of the various portions of the course.
If you are reading this and wanting to join in, it is not too late. Post a comment here and let everyone know which leg of the race you could participate in. Many of the groups above hardly know each other (or don't know each other at all), but they still put together a team. Swimmers are in high demand, so if you know a swimmer who is willing to swim 1.2 miles, point them to our blog.
For the teams above, don't wait too long to sign up. There appears to still be ample space, but these races typically fill up early. Raleigh should be preparing for a Rocky Mount Invasion this September!
I need a training plan for all this biking :) Im not sure my $#@% can sit on a bike seat that long. How are the rest of you going to train for the biking part, maybe we can put together a training plan to get us ALL through and have fun doing it...together as the endurance club we ARE!!!!

On a 6 month plan at the moment. I plan on riding tuesday and thursday evenings. 15 mph pace, for 11 to 18 miles. I will ride from the parking lot at Belton and Schrimper starting at 6PM. Anyone is welcome to join - I plan on emailing the RM Cycling group to see if we can get more in the group. Then on Saturday and/or sunday, do longer rides. For the first month or more, I plan on keeping the pace at 15. I also plan to go and ride the course once a month starting in April. I won't worry about time so much as getting used to the hills.
