City of Oaks Marathon

There have been rumors of the Raleigh Marathon coming back to life after several years of not running. Although the original race still has not re-organized, a new event has for 2007. Raleigh Running Outfitters presents the City of Oaks Marathon and Half Marathon.

There are virtually no details available on the run right now, but it is rumored to start around the fairgrounds/RBC Center and the course would loop to downtown then back and then loop out towards Umstead and back.

This is exciting news for our running group as it adds a local marathon option which keeps travel costs down, while keeping money closer to our communities. This could be a great option for a Fall marathon training team. Thanks goes to Scott for finding out about the race.
