At 9:30 AM this Saturday morning, we will meet with Bill Meyer, Medoc Park Superintendant at Medoc Park Headquarters and review his expectations for us. Additionally we will choose trails and we will learn proper techniques for trail maintenance. Quite a number of RMEC members and their families have indicated an interest but if there are additional folks that would like to be involved, everyone is welcome! Please confirm you interest by sending an e-mail to Frank at: flilley (at) embarqmail (dot) com
If anyone is interested in meeting early for a trail run, please post a comment. If you start at 8:00, you could get in a good 7-10 mile run in advance!
I will be there.
ReplyDeleteMight get there at 8:00 to get a run in, but not sure about that right now. Will reply again on Friday.
I'm thinking that I will be at Medoc to help on the trails. Probably will run too. I was wondering if we need to bring equipment, shovels, pruning shears, chain saws etc. Ralph.
ReplyDeleteIf you plan to go out to your trail and do maintenance Saturday after our meeting, you should bring some hand-held by-pass clippers and possibly a small, handheld folding saw . . . I purchased several and the only one that lasted well and cuts well for me is a Corona brand . . . I'll show you one Saturday.
ReplyDeleteI will be there for the trail maintenance training. I will have to make a last minute decision Friday night or Saturday morning on the run but am interested.

I'm not running at Medoc in the morning...got a bum ankle that refuses to go away.
ReplyDeleteI'll be there for the trail maintenance training. I plan to run about 8:00 for 4 miles. Bringing Jeff and tools.
ReplyDeleteI will be there for the trail maintenance training. Planning on getting there about 7:45 a.m. and getting a 8 - 10 mile run in before the meeting. Won't be able to do trail clearing tomorrow, but will come back to do my section either Sunday or the following weekend. I've got to get back home to take Devan and family up to ECU to check out the campus and dorm locations.
