Ford's Colony is Open For Registration!

The Ford's Colony 5k and 10k race presented by Dental Care Center is now open for registration! This years race will be help on Saturday, September 12th at the Ford's Colony golf course in Rocky Mount.

History: Last year over 250 runners registered for the races and we raised $2,850 for three different Rick Ford Memorial Scholarship funds in Rocky Mount. In 2009 we will increase race capacity, and also add a new 1.5 mile Fun Run for kids and families. We anticipate the race could grow to 350 total runners drawing people from Rocky Mount, Wilson, Roanoke Rapids, Tarboro, Raleigh, Greenville and other neighboring cities.

About the Event: Using a classic front-nine out and back-nine return routing, the race course takes advantage of the gently rolling terrain and allows for six miles of smooth paved paths. Runners and walkers will pass over brick bridges, through wooded paths, and take in multiple views of the 80-acre Belmont Lake along the route. This is a spectacular place to run, and we are privileged that the Ford's Colony allows us to use their course and facility for this event.

The David Johnson designed course spans over 14,000 acres of beautiful land with breathtaking views. His design is sure to become known as a masterpiece.
