SWIM RSVP: Saturday 04/26

Kinnie, is coordinating an open water swim practice at Lake Gaston this coming Saturday. The tentative plan right now is to swim around noon, and give people a chance to experience the open water in a wet suit. Even though many of you have done open water swims in the past, refreshing yourself on how it feels is a good idea before the race.

Run Details:

  • Day: Saturday @ noon
  • Where: Lake Gaston
  • Weather: Forecast
More details will follow in regards to carpooling, and when they will leave Rocky Mount. If you are interested, post a comment now. If there is not enough interest, she may try another day/time. I am also going to check about doing a reservoir swim as well. It will likely be one day after work early next week. Andy and Tracy both live on the reservoir, so I will see what I can find out.

One other note -- Kinnie also mentioned everyone could set up a transition spot so you can practice coming out of the water and switching to bike and then run. I'm not sure if the Forresters will be able to make it to this swim because we have family coming in to visit. But this sounds like a GREAT opportunity to practice.

We can do a resevoir swim, however, it is MUDDY right now with lots of debris from the recent rains. Not much fun to swim in. But I do have neighbors that would allow us to use their docks if we ask.

I will be there with family (kids included) and Patti and I will take turns with wet suit. Looking forward to the cold.
Ryan, hope to see you there, I don't know if the ladies understands shrinkage, and it looks like you are the only other guy to slide into the wet suit.
We are going to a friends house on the lake after, so we can't car pool.
